New European Bauhaus Prize 2025

A radically mixed-use cooperative building in Vienna's Nordbahnviertel: half living, half working, low-energy with photovoltaics and thermal component activation. I was involved in planning and construction from 2019 and have been technical lead since 2022. I represented the cooperative towards the developer, architects, general contractor and specialist planners, and today I am responsible for technical operations.

ImmoScout24

The ImmobilienScout24 app for the Austrian market. I lead Android development, maintain the CI pipeline and am responsible for quality assurance and documentation. In 2022 I implemented the Scout24 Group's new brand design on the basis of a design system.

HORNBACH app on two Android phones

HORNBACH

The existing webview-based app was rebuilt natively. I was responsible for concept, architecture and implementation, using BDD in an agile Scrum team. The app offers product search, ordering and payment.

qando

The official mobile companion of Vienna's public transport operator and Austria's most-used public transport route planner. I helped plan and build the app, set up a continuous delivery pipeline with custom Gradle plugins, and continuously optimised and monitored the release process.

04 · Process

From concept to operation

  1. Analysis

    What is already there, what should it do, who is involved? I take a close look at the existing setup, the requirements and the constraints.

  2. Concept

    Architecture, budget and schedule. I compare solutions and vendors and recommend one, with reasons you can follow.

  3. Implementation

    I coordinate trades and vendors, develop and integrate myself, and test until it runs reliably.

  4. Operation

    Handover, documentation, maintenance and further development. I stay on, even after the project is officially finished.

Maurice Wohlkönig

I am a project developer and technical lead based in Vienna. I started out in software: more than 20 Android apps since the very first Android version, many of them for public transport. Today I connect software with buildings, locking systems and infrastructure, and take responsibility for projects from concept to operation.

What I care about is technology that works day to day, not just on acceptance day.
